Halley's Commet Dragon Fruit Plant Is a hybrid variety resulting from a cross between Hylocereus undatus and Hylocereus guatemalensis. Its fruits feature a pink exterior with green abbreviated fins and purple flesh inside, typically weighing between 1.0 to 2.0 pounds. With a sweet flavor and an average brix of 16, it offers a delightful taste experience. The flower blooms, over 13 inches across, occur throughout the summer. This variety is a robust grower, though less aggressive, and can withstand full sun with minimal sunburn. While it has shown the ability to set fruit on its own, optimal results can be achieved with pollen from any Hylocereus polyrhizus. This variety was obtained from a tropical nursery in Louisiana.
