Armando Dragon Fruit Plant Is a variety originating from the genus Hylocereus and the species costaricensis. Initially discovered near the border of Honduras and Nicaragua, DNA testing reveals its relation to the commercially grown San Ignacio variety in Nicaragua. Characteristic of deep red flesh varieties, Armando features firm flesh with a subtle sweetness, measuring 17 on the brix scale in our tests. This particular variety was collected from a grower in California.
